ABOUT MAX

Max Muscato (born April 10th, 1990) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer. He was born in Washington D.C., and raised in Buffalo, NY. Originally Max aspired to be a physician, but while attending  the University at Buffalo he found himself spending the majority of his time writing music rather than studying. After graduating in 2012, Max traveled to Florida to work as a personal trainer at PGA National, where he trained professionals on the PGA Tour. Music never left him, however, it was his true calling and he decided to follow it.

Max was raised by his father, Marc Muscato, in Buffalo, NY. Marc, a professional percussionist, was Max’s first major musical influence. Max afforded his musical skills to his father, who nurtured his talent from an early age. His autistic older brother, Sonny Muscato, was also a drummer. From the time he could walk he was playing drums and integrated into music.

At age 13 Max picked up a guitar and was instantly hooked.  Growing up with modest roots, he found music was his outlet. Max learned to play by ear; practicing licks from classic rock and blues artists. Completely self-taught, he spent countless hours writing original music locked away in his bedroom. His love for classical music ultimately led him to blend all three genres together, creating his own signature sound.

By 16, Max had been part of several bands in the Buffalo area, while writing original music behind the scenes. After several years of being a "cover guy," he took music to the next level and began weaving his originals into his live sets. Max's unique sound is a tapestry created from his greatest influences; John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Stone Temple Pilots, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and composers Yanni, Enya, John Williams, Paul Cardall among others. After years of developing as an artist Max crafted a signature sound and incorporated it into all of his compositions, from the edgiest piece to the most tranquil.

2016 would be the year of live shows and ambition. As Max's network broadened, he began playing more well-known venues around Buffalo. He has been featured at The Music is Art Festival, Mr. Goodbar, Nietzsche’s, East Aurora Music Festival, Sportsmen’s Tavern and The Tralf Music Hall among others. In September Max headed to Imagine Recording Studio in Black Rock with over 50 originals. He recorded tracks featuring Buffalo great, Jerry Livingston on bass and Marc Muscato on drums.

Currently Max is finishing his debut album which is set for release spring/summer of 2017.
